The ABLE Network provides a number of valuable services and training resources to individuals with intellectual disabilities. As a volunteer-run organization it relies on the support of local residents and businesses, who in turn enjoy the benefits of a stronger, more inclusive community.
Recognizing an opportunity to contribute to a worthy local cause, Apple Self Storage launched a three-month-long fundraiser in an effort to ensure that program participants continue to receive workplace training, literacy support and many other skills to live a healthy, independent life.
Apple Self Storage launched its fundraiser at the beginning of September and recently wrapped up with a higher-than-expected total, reaching $6,695. Staff members were excited to present the cheque at the annual Apple Self Storage awards dinner in Toronto, attended by participants of the ABLE Network.
During the campaign Apple Self Storage set aside $5 from every rental of a new storage unit over the course of three months. Each of the Company’s 15 locations, from Toronto to Halifax, took part. Currently Apple Self Storage’s three Halifax-area facilities are collecting non-perishable food items in support of the community. The Company hopes to gather at least 300lbs of food by December 23, just in time to help local residents for the Holidays.
