Love’s Travel Stops has gotten into the self-storage business, and Tuesday celebrated the grand opening of its second self-storage facility at 1318 Horizon in East El Paso County, next to a Love’s truck stop.

The 70,000 square-foot facility has 517 storage units.

Love’s Storage Solutions opened its first facility in Sweetwater, Texas, early this year, also next to a Love’s truck stop, and the company has plans to open six other storage facilities in the next few years, a company official said. Two are scheduled to open in Las Vegas and one in Bridgeton, Mo., by next summer. The other locations have not yet been selected.

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores is an Oklahoma City-based chain with about 350 locations in 40 states.

It’s ranked No. 13 on Forbes Magazine’s annual listing of the nation’s largest private companies.
