A store clerk was saved by his wallet in a Wednesday night robbery and shooting at a Modesto mini storage store.Three men went into a storage business on Standiford Avenue, demanding money from an employee, police said.The group got into a fight with the clerk, and one of the suspects fired a shotgun, according to officers.The clerk was struck in the thigh area of his leg, but his wallet stopped the bullet.The victim suffered from moderate injuries due to the struggle during the robbery. Sammuel Leon Luna, 21, and Richard Wells Westover, 18, were both detained by officers inside a getaway vehicle. Two additional suspects suspected to be involved with the robbery are still at-large, police said. Police said the initial investigation indicates that three suspects entered the business while one stayed with the vehicle outside.The clerk is very lucky he had his wallet in his pocket, officers said.
