PODS® Enterprises, Inc. will continue its commitment to the Marine Toys for Tots’ ongoing efforts to spread Christmas cheer into the hearts of children. In the third year of its national charity collaboration, PODS will support the organization’s annual holiday toy drive by providing a wealth of PODS® containers across the United States that will serve as collection points for toys.

The 2012 Toys for Tots national campaign kicked off on Oct. 30 and goes through Dec. 8. Toys for Tots annually collects and distributes toys in communities where Marine Corps Reserve Units are located to help less fortunate children experience the joy of Christmas. PODS® franchises and corporate-owned locations will donate their signature containers in over 200 communities across the country to help collect new, unwrapped toys.

“Working with Toys for Tots has become a favorite holiday tradition here at PODS,” said John Koch, PODS president and CEO. “There is nothing more gratifying than lending our support to put smiles on thousands of children’s faces during the holidays.”

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help children in need experience the joy of Christmas, to nurture the development of children, to unite members of local communities in a common cause and to contribute to the future betterment of communities. In the 63 years since the Toys for Tots program began, the Marines have distributed more than 419 million toys to more than 195 million underprivileged children.

Last year, PODS provided more than 170 PODS® containers to the Toys for Tots annual toy drive.
