PODS® Hosts Fourth Annual Truck Driving Championship
Drivers from across the country traveled to the Florida State Fairgrounds to compete in such challenges as navigating through an obstacle course, performing difficult deliveries and maneuvering PODS containers into tight spaces using PODS’ patented PODZILLA®.
“The contest focused on some of the skills that are critical to providing great customer service at PODS,” according to Jeff Colonna, PODS regional director for the northeast region. “While the competition is a fun event, it underscores the serious dedication our drivers display in giving customers the best PODS experience.”
Mark Bowman said his biggest challenge in winning the “Best of the Best” in 2014 title was the competition from all of the other drivers. “Even though I have worked for PODS for over six years, I still learn a lot from watching the other drivers, and I will work to be even better myself. I had an incredible time, and met a lot of great people, and I’m looking forward to next year. I would also like to thank my Regional Director, Jeff Colonna, my Territory Manager, Scott Hans, and my Assistant Territory Manager Keith Clemens, for their support,” he said. Not only does Bowman earn bragging rights company-wide, his name and city will be engraved on the PODS Truck Driving Championship trophy.
Other PODS Truck Driving Championship winners were: Written Test, Joel Kaplan of Boston; Difficult Delivery, William Surpless of Raleigh; Cab to Rear Flip, Jason Juveland of Portland, Oregon, Forklift Challenge, James Adderly of West Palm Beach; Comprehensive Road Course Challenge, Bowman of Jersey Shore.
