SpareFoot is “footing” the bill for one lucky college student this summer. You could win $5,000 for school expenses, plus free self-storage— perfect if you need to stash possessions while studying abroad, moving between leases or just skipping town for the summer. Why are we doing this? SpareFoot is the world’s largest search engine for self-storage, making it easy to find the best storage unit online. We’re a fun tech startup founded in 2008 by two UCLA students, Chuck and Mario. The idea behind SpareFoot evolved from Chuck’s own experience trying to find affordable storage before studying abroad in Singapore. Now, we want to pay it forward by helping another bright student cover their storage needs and the costs of a semester. The application couldn’t be easier, just apply by June 1!

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must:

• Be full-time undergraduate college students in good standing at the time of application and during the semester in which prize is received
• Complete the entire Spare Funds Scholarship application

DEADLINE

The application must be submitted online through this website by June 1, 2012.

SELECTION

SpareFoot will review applications and choose a qualified winner based on past academic performance, extracurricular involvement, and the quality of their answers to the prompts in the application. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

PRIZE

SpareFoot will:

• Send a check for $5,000 to the winner. This amount should be used on school-related expenses such as tuition, books, fees, etc.
• Send a personal check to the winner reimbursing the full amount of rent paid on his or her self-storage unit.
• Winner should provide documentation of completed storage rental payments for reimbursement.
