The Store Room has announced an expansion of its self storage facilities at its Leicester branch. The first phase of a two-part expansion programme will be completed by the end of January, and adds an additional 10,000 sq. ft. of self storage space for domestic and business use. Representing a total investment of £300,000, The Store Room’s expansion in Leicester reflects a dramatic increase in local demand for storage space at its Foxholes Road site. Design and installation of the new facilities is being handled by the award-winning Active Supply & Design, the UK’s largest provider of self storage facilities. Phase 1 of The Store Room’s expansion in Leicester introduces a further 60 storage rooms and workshops, ranging in size from 25 sq. ft. to 1,000 sq.ft. Phase 2, scheduled for September 2014, will add a mezzanine floor and will create another 10,000 sq. ft. of storage space. The Store Room has operated from its site just off the Hinckley Road since 2007. The Store Room’s Managing Director, Jeremy Bradburn said: “Our investment in Leicester demonstrates the increasing confidence we see in the local area. We’ve seen a rapid increase in demand from online, e-bay businesses needing self storage to hold stock as well as traditional businesses needing more space for archive, tool and equipment storage. Demand for more flexible workshop units has also risen.” He continued, “The housing market has also had a significant positive effect on our operations in Leicester. People these days are often faced with the problem of having to move out of a home a good while before they can move into another. Having secure self storage for household contents removes a lot of the stress and has become an increasingly popular solution.” About The Store Room Established in 2007, The Store Room has become one of the UK’s leading providers of self storage services for businesses and private individuals. Headquartered in Manchester, the company operates branches in Bradford, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Preston and Rotherham.
