Access Self Storage Fills Unit With Chocolate Eggs For charity
UPDATE: April 2, 2024
Success! Access Self Storage, which launched its annual Easter Egg charity campaign about a month ago, has achieved it's goal: Filling a small storage unit with chocolate eggs for charity. To fill the unit, 136 donations in total were collected.
The eggs were donated to Reading Lions Club, which distributed to children in the community who would have gone without candy on Easter. In the 13 years that Access Self Storage has been doing its yearly collection, the company has collected more than 11,000 donations.
Jan Albert Fourie, general manager of operations at Access Self Storage, said: “It’s so important for our store teams to work closely with their local communities and to be able to help those that will really benefit from this collection. “We know the teams and our charity partners will be grateful.”

U.K.-based Access Self Storage launched its annual Easter Egg campaign, collecting chocolate eggs to donate to charity. This year the company set a goal of filling an empty 2.5-square-meter unit with the donated chocolate eggs. All donations will be given to The Felix Project and FareShare, two food redistribution charities.
The Felix Project fights against food waste and hunger in London, while FareShare redistributes food nationally.
“It’s so important for our store teams to work closely with their local communities and to be able to help those that will really benefit from this collection,” says Jan Albert Fourie, general manager of operations at Access Self Storage.
“We are delighted to be working with Access Self Storage and receiving Easter Eggs,” says Richard Smith, head of food supply at The Felix Project. “We know that many families struggle to afford to feed their families, and at times like Easter parents often feel more pressure to spend money they do not have on luxuries like chocolate eggs.”
Access Self Storage’s Easter Egg Appeal has collected more than 8,000 chocolate eggs since it started in 2011. Donations will be accepted at the Access Self Storage in Wembley Stadium Industrial Estate until March 25.
