The body that was found while investigating a fire at Broadmoor Self Storage, located at 4284 Broadmoor Ave SE in Kentwood, Michigan, has been identified as Corinne Abosamra, 33, originally of the Ann Arbor area.
In a press release, police said firefighters had determined that the fire started in the unit where Abosamra’s body was found, but that due to the nature of the fire, investigators weren’t able to figure out the cause of death.
Police said they were awaiting the medical examiner’s report and that because the investigation was ongoing. The death is still being considered suspicious, with police previously explaining it was due to the unusual circumstance of finding a body in a storage unit.
“[Kentwood PD is] trying to rule out whether it was foul play or something that we’ve seen in the past where people have lived in storage units,” said Capt. Jason Roelofs
MSM has reported in the past that homeless individuals have accidentally started fires while living unlawfully within a storage unit. Whether this was the case remains to be determined.
