Colliers' Tom De Jong Receives SIOR "Top Transaction" Award
Thomas “Tom” de Jong, executive vice president of investing for the National Self Storage Team of Colliers International, who has been a commercial real estate broker with Colliers since 2007, recently received a “2023 Top Transaction Award” from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) in the “Largest Alternative Space” category.
Each spring, the award, which ranks deals by dollar volume, is given to SIOR members who complete the largest transactions with one or more society associates. David Williams, senior value director for Colliers, collaborated with de Jong on the sale of Abbey’s Mini Storage, a 97,600-square-foot facility in Bakersfield, Calif., that sold for $9.1 million in January.
Specializing in self-storage site selection, development, and disposition throughout the U.S., de Jong became an SIOR member in 2018. He’s also a founding member of the de Jong ‖ Becher Self Storage Team.
“Earning recognition in SIOR’s 2023 Top Transaction Awards for the largest alternative space deal is a proud moment,” de Jong said. “The SIOR designation signifies expertise and excellence, paving the way for continued success in our industry.”
