PTI Security Introduces AP1 Access Control Keypad
Self-storage access control technology company PTI Security Systems, part of the ASSA ABLOY portfolio of brands, today announced the introduction of the AP1 keypad. The new product offers operators and tenants new keypad capabilities and features designed to improve security and convenience. A press release further states that PTI created the AP1 to help self-storage operators attract and retain tenants with more automated and efficient access.
"The AP1 keypad reflects the shifting expectations of operators and their tenants and is a direct replacement for our VP Standard line of keypads,” noted PTI Director of Marketing Steve Reeder. “AP1 integrates Bluetooth technology with robust design features to enhance convenience and support advanced automation capabilities, redefining the standard for access control in the industry."
Features of the AP1 include:
- A larger OLED display allow for expanded operator messaging and branding, including facility logos
- Next generation Bluetooth, with an increased range, allowing tenants touchless entrance and exit of the facility using their phone.
- Greater durability and easier maintenance
- Increased surge protection capabilities and a clamshell chassis
- An optional dual-purpose heated keypad to keep the unit from freezing in colder climates while providing an additional heat source for internals
- Raised, backlit buttons with positive tactile response allow for easier operation of the keypad for gloved hands
Like all PTI keypads, the AP1 integrates directly to StorLogix and is available for ordering in May 2024.
“PTI is setting the stage for continued innovation in self-storage access control,” noted Reeder. “Listening to the needs and wants of operators and tenants drives our development process. When married with our technology capabilities, we can create best-in-industry offerings.”
