The Pelham Police Department in Massachusetts has apprehended 29-year-old Chase Bryant, who has been charged with self-storage burglary and more.

Over the past couple weeks, police have been investigating a rash of break-ins at Pelham Self Storage, located at 70 Bridge Street. Their investigation suggested that the suspect was entering through the woods behind the property rather than by vehicle.

Around 1pm on Friday, officers conducted a search of the woods behind the storage facility. They soon found a man, later identified as Bryant, in a clearing surrounded by numerous items believed to be stolen. When officers tried to detain him, Bryant fled and a foot chase began.

Officers lost sight of Bryant as he crossed Bridge Street amid heavy traffic. A perimeter was quickly set up, and additional officers were called in from the Salem, New Hampshire, and Dracut Police departments. A resident of the area eventually spotted him hiding in her backyard and called for help. Police moved in, and Bryant was swiftly apprehended and taken into custody.

Bryant faces charges of burglary, receiving stolen property, felony possession of drugs, possession of burglarious tools, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. Police said additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
