The Self Storage Association (SSA) has announced new self-storage law amendments in two states.
Both HB 2545 and HB 934 take effect on July 1, 2024, and set forth a process for disposing of property remaining in a unit after the end of the rental agreement.
According to the SSA, the language in HB 2545 and HB 934 primarily deals with tenants whose agreements were terminated or not renewed for a reason other than non-payment and who left property in their unit.
Both bills recognize that agreements may be delivered and signed electronically and establish a process regarding the enforceability of unsigned rental agreements.
