U-Haul has announced that 71 stores across Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas would be offering free self-storage to victims of Hurricane Beryl. The Atlantic storm made landfall in the United States on July 8 in Texas causing severe flooding and wind damage, with reports of at least seven dead in the Houston region. Additionally, the outer bands of the hurricane produced a tornado outbreak, with tornadoes confirmed in numerous states.
"Anytime there is some sort of natural disaster, people need self storage," said Warren Iles, Marketing Company President for U-Haul. "Moving is already stressful enough by itself, but when you add flooding, fires, tornadoes, etc. the stress and expense is already multiplied more than much people can handle."
The 30-days offer applies to new self-storage rentals and is based on availability.
People seeking more details about the U-Haul disaster relief program or needing to arrange storage can call a participating location near them.
In addition to its 30 days free self-storage disaster relief program, U-Haul is proud to be at the forefront of aiding communities in times of need as an official American Red Cross Disaster Responder.
